LOL, I did a lot of Google search too and it looks very close. I'll probably stick with HEB for my greens.

 

Those are good greens, but they are better to eat if you pick 'em before they begin to /put off the bloom/seed pods... The leaves are more tender when they are younger....

 

Times are tight but not that tight.

 

LOL right. Well the greens may be in short supply with the coming "Holiday" on Monday.

 

I have wild real broadleaf and curly leaf mustard greens that grow in the yard every winter. No seed planting, they just pop up throughout the front and back yard!

 

So tonight there was an elderly Asian couple out harvesting more so I asked. In broken english, she told me they use it to make "kim tea". Only the younger plants were good. Once they went to flower, it was too late. They had a several bags and a dolly!

 

Ok, they survive so it is good to go ahead to try some. Please let us know. ... I would ask them for some samples of kim tea or kimchi.

Mustard Greens

Several Asian cultures also dry and "pickle" mustard greens. This gives you vegetables throughout the winter. They pickle them by soaking them in rice water. They do get even more sour when pickled! Kimchi is Korean fermented or "pickled" napa cabbage, etc. with other spices.

 

I would bet she was saying Kimchi because she did mention cabbage.
