my radar & windy are killer apps

most reliable tide/surf sites for me have been Magic seaweed & Stormsurf

 

MyRadar app for current weather conditions. Windfinder Pro app for current wind. Wunderground app for forecasts.

My phone connects via Bluetooth with my Garmin in the boat and real time weather alerts from MyRadar show up on the Garmin.

I liked Intellicast's maps much better, especially the Surface forecast and wind maps (during hunting season). I can't seem to find a lot of what I liked anywhere. Hate Wundermaps.....

Weather Underground SUCKS! I have used Intellicast for the last 8 years without a complaint. Their Java Radar Loop was fantastic. Now you can't find it on WU. Their "Interactive Map" doesn't work at all. Won't even load up. Also, no 10 day forecast for my area. It won't even load up. I've sent them 2 emails complaining. Got one back saying they would look at it shortly. Not holding my breath.

 

I've been using My Radar for a couple years now ... very good visuals and accuracy enough to tell me that my current location will see rain starting in however many minutes (usually up to 30-40) and be spot on ... you can put many other locations in and pull up also ...

I go with Intellicast and NOAA also. Intellicast is more easily navigated but NOAA has so much more than just current weather.

 

For marine weather there is nothing better than NOAA at weather.gov. Click and zoom in to your area.

For long term forecasts there is none better than Joe Bastardi's at weatherbell.com

spacecityweather.com is great for Houston weather

and tropicaltidbits.com is another outstanding site.

 

Go get yourself the app "WINDY".

It's by FAR the best I have used. You can get wind, temp, rain, clouds.....and a lot more. Also it will run into the future about 5 days. The last front which blew through on Sat EARLY 3:00-4:00 am was spot on and i saw it on Thursday.

Next front Wed 2am passing the coast.

Weather Underground was bought by the Weather Channel several years ago so it looks like the Weather Channel is trying to eliminate all competition by buying them.
I imagine Intellicast will continue to operate the same way Wunderground has.
I use Intellicast radar most often.

 

Well I was wrong ,Intellicast is gone, bummer, and the radar from Wunderground is nowhere nearly as good as Intellicast. Hopefully they fix it or I figure out how to deal with it or find a new site.
