Warranty for Toshiba 4K TV

Question about how to get warranty repair for our 6 month old Toshiba 55 inch 4K TV. One night it suddenly appeared a fairly big black horizontal spot on the left side. Then it got bigger. We called Best Buys and one guy said Toshiba does not provide warranty service for that kind of problem. What? Then what's the 1 year manufacturer's warranty is for? We called a second time and another Best Buys guy gave us a 1-800 number for Toshiba. We called them and couldn't get through to anyone.

By the way, one of the picture showed a spot or something that looks like it's been hit by a bb bullet. I don't have any bb gun in the house but I'm afraid if they look at it they could blame I hit it with something. But I can't get anyone to even look at it first.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

If all fail, take it out the field, put a big sign "Bought at Best Buy" and "Made by Toshiba" on top of it, and pump few rounds 12 gauge into it several times and put it on YouTube or Facebook. You remove only after Toshiba or Best Buy gives you a new one.

That picture sure looks like either something hit the screen, or the screen hit something. The cracks radiating out from one spot look obvious. Did any furniture get moved near the screen? Did the TV get moved past the corner of furniture and bump it while hanging/installing the TV?

Ding ding ding, this is always the case in my house. Missing tools, damaged furniture, broken glass...goes on and on. Makes the wife mad when I call the boys out on it, but they ALWAYS lie/fib at first. Of course then they get in much more trouble for dishonesty. You would think they would learn.

I do have a 10 year old but he's not admitting to have done anything. Mom is on his side. That's why I'm not going to bother speaking to Best Buy or Toshiba. I'm giving away this TV for free. Any takers please pm me.

On your next TV, find out if you have a credit card with the double warranty benefit. Many credit cards have a feature that will double the manufacture warranty on electronics. Just went through this with a TV that went out in month 13. Of course, pay it off if you were going to pay cash, regardless.
