my weed eater is not running right. it will idle, but dies as soon as i try to throttle it up. seems to be starving for fuel. took the carb off, checked the diaphram [only wet on one side] cleaned it all up. no difference. ran it with and without fuel filter. same same. lines all good. drained and replaced fuel. still the same. help a 2cooler out, i hate mowin' and not being able to do the finish work.

I have found this to fix several brands of weedeaters. The cylinder head bolts get loose and you lose compression. I had to pretty much disassemble them but after I put some loctite on the bolts and tightened them down they ran fine.

That makes sense Terry...........the engine running heats up the cylinder head causing expansion creating a seal thus increasing compression.

Not sure if you got it fixed or not, but I had the same issue with my Echo. Idled fine, but would bog out really bad under throttle. On the Echo's, if you take the exhaust housing apart there is a little screen that fits over the exhaust port. It will become clogged up with carbon, unspent oil, etc. You have to clean it with some gasoline/carb cleaner and a wire brush, reassemble, and your back in business. The clogged screen filter will prohibit exhaust from exiting, thus leading to it bogging down under throttle. Hope this helps.
