Just do what you feel is best. Around trip to east bay and back is right at 250 miles for me. No problems.

 

It is easy to do, but I have made a lot of long trips and have never had an issue with those clips or a windshield. Except for bugs.

 

I have 7 years of pulling this boat and have never had one if those clips let go. It's been from Houston to Corpus at least 100 times and will be going tomorrow as well.

 

Put some liquid detergent on a rag and rub it on the surfaces that get hammered by bugs and let it sit. When you get to your destination, run by the car wash and rinse off.

 

Pam works well for the bugs as well.

 

I only remove my windshield on long, multi-day trips. Never taken the windshield off the Blue Wave as the longest trip has only been about 300 miles. Previous boat, removed several times on 1000 mile and more trips.

 

Use Saran Wrap on your windshields and flat surfaces. Once you get to your destination simply peel the Saran Wrap off.

the saran wrap works well, esp w love bugs and skeeters

300mi. take the ws off........more drag, less fuel economy
