so now we finally figured out what Marty has been doing with all his flounder. it's amazing one little lake (sabine) can keep the entire country stocked up with flounder. :rybka::texasflag

Halibut

That is why most AK restaurants Batter fry Halibut. Its always good. Heavy batter keeps it from drying out as bad. Beer Batter! I have fish stick cut it and batter fried for tacos it was good.

At $30+ per pound - it isn't halibut. I plan to get one soon and try it. Halibut is hard to fry since its high in oils. Very very quick to cook. I actually need to get someone to help as literally 30sec on each side and done. Overcook and you have tuff chicken nuggets.
I have fried and ate alot.

Subbing halibut for flounder sounds like a win.

No I checked into it. But the flounder that come out of Louisiana have the mercury in the sammiches themselves.

Fish Sandwich Survey

Since this thread began, I've done a personal survey of all the fast food fish sandwiches in my area. I ranked them as follows:

1. Whataburger Whatacatch Sandwich...far and away the best taste and texture.
2. Wendy's Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich...a distant second.
3. Popeyes Cajun Flounder Sandwich...tastes neither cajun nor flounder, but extra points for being bigger piece of meat than the rest.
4. Burger King Big Fish Sandwich...Edible in a pinch
5. Jack in the Box Deluxe Fish Sandwich ...This one could have been much higher if they had changed the fryer oil more often... was firm, tasty and crispy...with a hint of burnt oil.

Get the Whatacatch while you can, like most its likely limited to the Lenten season.

I don’t see the McDonalds fish sandwich on the list. It’s the only other fish sandwich I’ve ever tried. I know I’ll get bashed for this, but I found it much better than the Popeye fish sandwich. Actually I like it pretty good.

I think McDonald's has the best fish sandwich. Make it a double fillet with large fries and a large sweet tea and it's good stuff.
