I have one, yes I believe it is well built. 2001 year model, just not a T (tunnel), I have the 2200V.

 

Excellent boat. I have a 2007 2400TE. For a new boat the new blue waves are very comparable boats at a better price IMHO. If it’s a used pathfinder check for stress cracks on the bottom of the hull from being run hard through the years in hard chop. I have some cracks develop on the bottom of the hull but I bought it salvage from Copart with 500+ hours so I guess you get what you pay for. Over all very happy nothing broken on the hull or hatches. Transom is solid. I Have some gel coat delaminating on the inside of the hull. It plugs up the bulge pump sometimes. I plan on running it until it no longer feels safe. Then possibly send to a glass shop for a full tear down and reinforcement. I got a quote for $8k to completely strip it add reinforcements and regelcoat. She’s a pretty boat.

While I dont have experience with that model i do have a 2012. Older boats had some drainage issues if I recall, but the pathfinder forum can be extremely helpful. I think bluewaves are very comparable on newer models, but what sold me on pathfinder are the long term resell value. Cant go wrong either way.

 

I did a lot of research before I decided to buy my older 99 Pathfinder 2200V. I looked here and over at The Hull Truth, and when someone asked about best bay boats the Pathfinder always seemed to be in most folks top 3 recommendations. For me I wanted a boat that would perform in reasonably shallow saltwater but also could handle bigger lakes for striper fishing. Bluewave was also a consideration for me as well.

 

I have an ‘01 2200T and really like the boat. Buddies father bought it new and I purchased from him so I have fished the boat for 18 years. Not a single structural issue and the boat still looks almost new. Getting the best performance out of the tunnel was tricky and a learning experience. I have it set up to do just about anything I need in the POC area. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
