My 2000-125 Merc is running real rough. #4 cyl seems to fire intermitently.Fuel syst.is O K. Switched coil with #3 Prob still with #4. Timing light on #4plug wire shows mark on flywheel moving all over about 2 inches. This may explain the clattering at some speeds. My neighbor,who is an outboard mech.said it is probably the stator or the trigger. Does this make sense ,and how can I test to find out ? Thanks for the help. Dave.
