You should be good with ten or more unless your County has special regs in your area. I’d call your local game warden out to ask him and get an absolute yes or no before I’d try to get a straight answer from a county employee that may or may not know the answer.

 

Call one of your local wardens, they can tell you.

Montgomery County is 10... for sure. Even for bow hunters.

 

Liberty County is 10 acres, unless stated by special conditions. Normally for platted subdivisions

Along time ago, we had a neighbor that had 11 acres in San Marcos. The 11 acres was between a big ranch and a fancy gated subdivision. You know the kind of fancy neighbor that put deer feeders out and had a Green space. He killed many of deer off that 11 acres, while upsetting a lot of homeowners in that subdivision.

It was always my understanding that outside the city limits you can do whatever you pleaseas long you aren’t shooting across property lines or within a certain distance of a public road. I never knew there was a minimum acreage for private discharge of a firearm.

 

I used to deer hunt on 3 acres just outside of Somerville. It bordered land owned by the government/Corp of Engineers.

 

I thought there was a min of 10 acres to fire a firearm in tex.

 

As long as your projectiles dont cross the fence line then you are good to go .
