I'm sure this has been discussed but iam a freshwater guy and every time I've been down to the salt we always used kahle/croaker hooks wether with live croaker or shrimp under a cork. I would just like to know why everyone prefers them over other hooks?

Croaker, 4/0, or 5/0 khale. I have some 3/0 circle I am trying with croaker, I just don't do near as well.
Lets your live bait swim rather free and turns perfect for a side of the mouth hook set. Great all around bait hook for shrimp or finfish. Had a very wide gap which is needed for the right hook set. Its juju magic dont question it.
The smaller size one or two are also good hook replacements when fishing topwater lures in floating grass. Less foul ups than the treble hooks.

I usually use 5/0 or 6/0 (when I can find them) red kahle hooks but recently I started using 7/0 and love the hook-up ratio. I was 90+% before but now I hardly miss a fish.
I have switched to all circle hooks for live bait. Used to use wide gap but circle work just as good if not better and tend not to gut hook as easy
It depends on the way you fish. If you're one of those guys who open the bail/free spool and let them run, circle hooks work great. If you're like me, and try to rip their lips off, the kahle is the way to go. I tried circles, and just couldn't get the hooksets.
Owner Mutu-light circle hooks. I have a small box with 5-6 different sizes. I use the smallest I can get away with for the bait that I am using. #1 - 5/0
