What do you want to know???? I havnt hunted there in 15+yrs BUT I would bet I can go late season and get a easy limit of Mallards....WW

 

Maybe 15+ years ago you could have gotten mallards... ok, not even in 1998 could you have done that... your lucky to kill a 1 man limit of teal in there these days...

Yeah I talked to them today. And for what I'm wanting to do it just isn't going to work. I need a place where I can go and hunt pigs and rabbit and squirrel, without paying some God awful amount for a lease!

 

You can hunt hogs there....just not during duck season. Refer to the WMA booklet for better details.

 

JD Murphee, Sergeant, Brazoria, Justin Hearst(Peach Point), etc. just don't offer the waterfowl hunting they used to, in my opinion.

 

The big thicket offers a free permit to hunt one of several units throughout southeast texas.
The permit must be picked up in person at their office located in villagemills,tx (about 20 miles north of lumberton,tx)
They are open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
