Great kid and a **** good fisherman. I have not been on a trip with him, but if he is like his dad, you will learn a lot.

JAY RAY is so far advanced at his age it is scary. @ 23 yo, I would easily place him in the top 95% percentile of all guides. Great manners, teaching ability, and up for making sure his clients are happy at the end of the day. You will not be sorry he is part of the deal you are going out on........ in fact, I would make sure I got on his boat!!

Hes one heck of a guide my best friends uncle lives next door to jay so we have gotten to know them pretty well the last 10 years. I would def get on his boat if I was you. He's a cool dude that can def fish.

 

I fished with him a few times and he is as good as anyone on the whole coast, including his dad. He will not quit until you tell him to.

 

Jay Ray is one of the best and is nice in addition. About the only ones who have a chance of beating him in most tournaments are his dad and Rowsey. Not long ago Jay came in first and Jay Ray second in a tournament, but Jay Ray had a disadvantage. His motor blew up about 9 o'clock in the morning. He still beat everyone else.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Jay and Jay Ray on the same trip a couple of years ago. I will remember that trip for a long time. It is a great education. I would say that they are the best guides in the Rockport Area.

Jay Ray is AWESOME! He and his father are outstanding! You definitely won't be disappointed...he will put you on fish! No doubt!

 

A buddy and I went out with him last Friday and did really well. He knows his stuff is a cool guy to fish with. I will def use him again.

 

In the past I have fished with Jay sr. but last month I fished with both due to Jay's schedule. The first day out was with Jay Ray and my wife was with me. He is very courteous, knowledgeable and true professional. He put us on fish and my wife had a blast and is now hooked. Get on his boat! The next day my buddy and I had Jay sr. booked and my buddy's dad and bro-in-law had jr. booked. We all fished together and needless to say, what an awesome day and what a hammering we put on the fish!

Chuck Norris stares fish into the boat, all joking aside you've made a good choice, i haven't fished with either of them but i'm sure you'll have a great day on the water.

 

NOT A BASH: but we booked an 8 person trip with him a couple of years ago and he forgot to tell his other guide. So it ended up being a shuttle trip for both parties. We weren't very happy. Nice Guy though.
