This is a poker card draw raffle for the two firearms below. The rifle is a Rem 700 .243 youth, Topped with Leupold bases and rings and a Leupold 3x9 scope. The shotgun is a Browning Silver Hunter 20 gauge. The cards are $50.00 each. We will have one deck for each gun. We will only sell one deck of cards per gun! The retail value of the rifle is about $850.00 and the shotgun is a little better than $900.00.

The donations will benefit the Stony Point FFA in Round Rock. They use the money to buy show animals and for scholarships. I have personally purchased these firearms. I will donate the rifle and take the cost of the shotgun out of the proceeds and the rest will go to the Stony Point FFA Booster Club. If your the lucky winner and are not local, I will pay to ship to your chosen FFL. You do not need to be present to win. I will call the winners to work out the picking up details. The guns are brand new, never been fired, in the box. Winners will have to go through all steps as if they bought the gun. The guns will be available for local pick up at Mcbrides Guns in Austin. A shout out to McBrides. Mr Joe McBride kicked in a good amount to maximize out profit. Go see them, you will be glad you did!

You can mail a check and I will mail you a card. The winners will be picked next Saturday, the 16th, at the Bad To The Bone BBQ Cook Off at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock. Check out the website - badtothebonebbq.org. If your in town, You should come see us. There will be close to 100 teams there and we expect about a 1000 spectators.

Thanks to all who choose to participate. Its a great cause..

Ladies and Gents. I would appreciate some feed back. Wrong guns, to much money, scared to mail a check to a guy you dont know.

This is an experiment because I want to do a big gun raffle for these kids in the fall and am trying to figure out the best way to market this. So far in the hunting board and here I have had almost 300 views and not a single hit. Comments are welcome, you wont hurt my feelings. Trying to learn something here.

Thanks

When I was a kid and we needed to raise money for this or that, we raised the money, not our parents. Kids need to learn how to support their own causes.

Sure thing. We will two decks of cards for each gun. We sell one deck (that's your raffle ticket) and the other deck goes in the tumbler. Lets say you buy the queen of hearts. If we draw the queen if hearts out of the tumbler you win. We will only sell 52 tickets (cards) per gun. You do not need to be present to win. When you buy a card, we take your name and number. When we call the card, if your there great, if not, I will call you and work out the details. You will have to register the gun when you pick it up, the same as you would if you went to a gun shop and bought it. The only difference. You only paid 50 for a brand new gun. Any more questions, feel free to ask.

They manner in which you have presented and are running the raffle is correct. The exception is that the FFA students need to sell the cards. They won't handle the firearms but they do need to directly represent their ag class. Makes selling the cards easier as well. I'll buy a card from a student faster than from a parent.

We do this at the Hold'Em & Hit'Em BBQ every year and it's quite successful.

I helped our local FFA put on a crawfish to go plate dinner

the kids sold the tickets and learned how to cook and sell em, it made alot of money in just a few hrs and we were done

sell the tickets, order in the cfish and supplies, customers drive by the ag shop and p/u between x hours, no p/u , no refund , kids cleanup and wash everything down.

Thanks for the info. We are going to sell them at the BBQ. I have another battle on my hands that I am gonna fight. The principle of the school said he would shut our booster club down if any students or booster club money was used for this purpose. That's why I am doing it myself. The BBQ is in a week. When that's over I will address the principle. He said it would bring a "thug" reputation to his school if we raffled off a gun.

ok , then why don't you do an ipad, flat, screen, laptop, trip to somewhere, or something like that, and maybe get best buy or others to chip in for a discounted cost to you.

the principal is under a lot of scrutiny and just trying to see everyone get along.

better to win the war than just a battle and you can't make everyone happy w the weapons you choose to raffle.

I am very pro 2nd amendment , but guns+schools= bad PR , would have been a great idea years ago.
