Are any of you folks using a media player device to access Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, through your interweb connection etc. for use on your HD TV? I am shopping for a 32" flat screen but she also wants to stream Netflix. I see there are a few TV's that have the built in innerwebs as well. Looking at my options and advice. The easy-me wants to order the all-in-one, plug it in and be done. The other-me says to buy separate in so I can upgrade when need be. Discuss among yourselves....

i have an internet TV (samsung 6300 55") and love it. I don't have netflix anymore because i dont watch enough movies, but stream 1080 through Hulu and it's great quality. haven't tried the pandora, but i'm sure it's the same. The set that i bought was not "internet ready" but "internet capable". What this meant is i bought a $50 plug in deal that is a USB drive to make it stream on my wireless, not a big deal at all. HOpe that helps.

I have a Roku and I like it. Don't love it, yet. I watch a lot of Netflix. Mostly documentarys and series. I have fast internet, but not as fast as you guys with Comcast, so downloads can be a problem. Netflix is not THERE yet. They don't have the first run rentals that you can get through the mail. If you have HBO, you can watch HBOgo which is great if you have the data stream. I didn't answer your question, but one consideration is, I can move the Roku from one TV to another.

we recently purchased a 32" from sam's club. they had a samsung for $300. just last night, we purchased a sony blu ray (w/netflix) for $70 from costco. purchases from costco come with a lifetime warranty, so we won't have to buy another ever. its our first set up with the neflix compatability, so i can't tell you how it works. its under the tree right now.

you better read that again.

several years ago, Costco revised their warranty on electronics.

My advice is to SIMPLIFY things and get a decent internet HDTV. Less clutter, less remotes, less wires and less things to go wrong.
I have 2 Toshiba LED TV's with wifi and all the Netflics, Pandora, HULU, Facebook, ect apps and it is great! We use Pandora all the time and the wife pops on to check Facebook once and a while.
I can also access my hard drives on all my PC's and stream pictures and video's to the TV.

I have Tivo on two HD sets. Love Tivo and have been a user for years and years. It automatically makes available Hulu Plus; Amazon Instant; Netflix; Youtube; Blockbuster; and Movie videos.. Of course you need monthly fees for Tivo;' and for Netflix etc. but I imagine that applies to most services.

I use comcast for my cable company.

Tivo's search and find abilities have not been matched yet by any service that I have looked at, but I haven't looked at many. No direct internet...but..you can connect to your wifi and your computers... I am certain that I haven't used all of the features yet.

I am interested in the "plug in" device that connects to your computer. That might be a better way to go for me than trying to set up the Tivo. Any info appreciated. regards, Rich
