Can't you just go buy a post with a meter loop from Home Depot, McCoys and then have Blue Bonnet connect you. I believe they are like $250-300 and you bury the pole yourself. I would ask McCoys or Home Depot if their meter loops meet Blue Bonnet requirements.

that does not sound bad, I have seen people sell them for about $300 and you install but if it does not pass bluebonnets inspection they won't hook it up
and when a permanant structure is built they normally will not charge you to swing it over to your new service (if you will have one). $300 was years ago with material cost rising I wouldn't say that is out of hand.

I installed my own and had almost that much in materials alone. That is a good price. I've been a journeyman electrician since 1986. My distance from the pole top to the meter can was around 120 feet. I ran underground conduit and copper wire, and HL&P gave me my meter can free. I still had around $500.00 in materials. Trust me, that is a good price.
