My brother gave me a Coleman Powermate Generator 2500 W. It appears to have a 1 gallon steel tank with the carb mounted on top of it.
it sort of looks like this

Im trying to figure out how the choke function works, this model has 2 slide levers, one is an on/off and the other is a throttle. The choke is a push pull rod under the tank with a spring and adjustable indent lock thing which I need to know how its supposed to work.
Thanks in advance..

Mine has an ON/OFF Slide and the other says RUN on one side and Choke on the other. No throttle on mine. The speed is set with a little thumb screw down by the base (RPM s are set using an volt meter on the output) adjust the screw until you get 125 volts output. Go to Powermates web site and you should be able to download and print a operators manuel.....this is for the gen only

Also you need to go to Briggs and stratons web for the perticular motor, just need the motor P/N, and it will give ya a parts diagram for the linkage. Seems powermate just marries the two together, and the engine is bought assembled from briggs.

I went thru the same thing as I was rebuilding on old 2200 watt one.
