For all the electrical experts, I am blowing the fuse over and over on my lights. I think the ext cord ( plug says c 10 whatever that means) is too small as the place where the fuse is blowing is at that 1st connection. Also, I stopped at 4 strings because the 5th one was blowing it too. Is it too many strands? I am using the old school 9c strings. Please help!!!

We used to have the same problem. We went and bought LED lights today. They are the icicle lights and it states on the box that you can connect up to 29 strings together. We connected 21 strings on one cord and they have been on since 3pm with no problems. Nothing but LEDs for me from now on!

You can only put three strings of C9 bulbs per run. You may run a three way spliter and run up to 9 strands per extension cord. I've been an commercial electrician for 13 hrs and installed Christmas lights for the past 4yrs. If you want you can increase the fuse size but only one size which I think is a 1.5amp fuse. Hope it helps.
