saw some ducks today that I think were canvasbacks. would they come this far west/south? we have mallards stay the winter in the creek. Kurt.

Most of the big lakes in Texas have canvasbacks that winter on them. Choke Canyon, Rayroberts, Cooper, etc. They like big open water. We hunt some large brackish water lakes on the coast (50 to 100 acres) that regularly produce cans. So yes, we definatly have a wintering population here in Texas.
