Depends on the water depths and current you are in. We use anything from 20oz to 5 pounds. The 3 and 5 pounds are for deep drops.

do-it molds.com the rock cod molds work good and it is a lot cheaper to make them look for plumbers lead or lead from e bay . try the tire shops but the epa has come down hard on lead

Thanks for the info. I have a lot of lead from roofing jobs so it just made cents! Will look for molds.

I have found a toilet paper roll with a trebble hook end out the top makes a 3 1/2 pound sinker for deep dropping when filled with lead. I pour it on a piece of flat steal and it comes out good every time.
