What is the best moon phase to fish in?

I went out yesterday and the bite was little to none. I was getting hits and caught some undersized fish but it seemed as if they fish weren't on. It could have been the pressure but the two guys I ended fishing with each caught a Spec between 17-20 inches but there just didn't seem to be the activity I'd seen the last few weeks.

I have a feeling it was a correlation of the moon and pressure but I might just be wrong.

They never "lit off" for me yesterday, either. Although, I had some action on a few quality fish... Catching the tide/water movement where you fish is essential. A lot of slack water yesterday. It can be good, but I don't particularly like full moons, esp. the backside. I prefer new moon cycles...

The major feeding times are noon and midnite during full and new moons. the minors are at 6am and 6pm. Each day move those times forward 1 hour . . . check an almanac calendar for that day - poor, fair, good, best . . . fish the best day at the best time. . . tides are indicative of the bite . . . my .02

Fish travel. Places that you catch fish on might be empty the next trip around. I went 8hrs straight looking for fish in places that by then would have yielded at least enough for my wife and I to eat. We did not have a single red or trout until 5 in the afternoon after all day grinding. We had a blast on one single h. hustler on purple/chart from 5-dark (since I had not planned on using lights that evening). Had we left at midday, as I mostly do, we would have been skunked, had we only gone in the afternoon it would have been a great "day" for fishing. Sadly fish do not fish on our time schedule sometimes.
