I need new depth finders for my boat. Front deck and drivers seat. The front will transducer will trolling motor mounted and the other transom mounted. I currently have a hummingbird 758 and a lowrance elite 5x. They will stay independant of each other. Id like to stay under 2k.
How does the elite 7 and 9 compare to the hds.

I need some.help on this one. Im trying to learn how to fish deep.

I think most people that have the elite series are pretty happy with them.

Fishing deep is all about finding the deep structure, granted that can be the top of a hump, a ledge, the drop off or shear face next to a hump, river bed edges, creek edges, old road beds, bridges, etc. just something the fish use to hold to and thing that attract bait fish. Been a long time since i've Carolina rigged deep structure.

I don't think you can use the platinum plus level map chips on the elite series, can you? I may be wrong, but I think you have to have the HDS in order to show the graphics of the aerial photo overlays.
