This rod and reel was found in an attic of an old house my dad was remodeling about 20 years ago. The reel is an ocean city 112 and the rod is a montague monterey. The little info that i've found suggest that it was made around the late 1930's or early 40's if anybody can give me any more info or how much it might be worth it would be greatly appreciated.

The rod appears to be split bamboo and like bill said would most likely be the more valuable of the two. The reel bares a stong resemblance and number to very early Penn Reels. There is one on eBay now. High bid is $1.00.

edit. Just found a reel on a bulletin board that was listed as a True Temper Ocean City 112

Do a google search on Montague Rod. Lots of info.

more pics

Thanks for all the input. Heres a couple of more pics that i found interesting. It only has 3 eyes and The eye on the tip is just straight off the end and the 2nd eye is actually 2 eyes one on either side. the only thing i can figure is that its a hook hanger.

The eyes on either side were so that you could occasionally flip the rod over and bend it the other way while fishing. It prevented the rod from getting a permant bend in one direction.
