Went out to target big Trout, conditions were great for a bit then some storms rolled in so we called it a day. 2 bites only but I guess that is big trout fishing. I did a lot of wading this summer in spots I knew weren't summer spots but I wanted to get to know them for this time of year. The 1st shoreline was a mix of mud/ grass & rocks and the 2nd was ankle deep mud with hard bottom. After observing a nice blowup I made a few cast and landed a nice 25'' Trout. I didn't get a weight but she was noticeably heavy. I caught her on a Lil John XL Purple demon w/ white tail & a 3/16 jig head. I saw another blow up but I wanted to throw a corky so I swapped knowing there was fish in the area. Needless to say I suck at corkies and after 20 or so throws I went back to tails. The clouds were already rolling in and looked pretty bad so I called it a day. Almost looked like a big giant funnel cloud so I said "not today". Ill be here for a few more days and dint want an incident on day 1 lol... I need to start extending my arms out to make the fish look bigger like a lot of other folks

Back at it in the morning, hopefully I have a good report for you guys tomorrow.

Im pretty sure yesterday got up to 71, today was 80

Plenty of slot trout & a redfish to boot, just was hoping to find some big girls.

This front that’s coming at the end of the week will get em back in the winter pattern and you’ll have your chance at a nice sow.
