Tried Trinity last Wednesday with my oldest son. Haven't been there, or in salt water in two years. Five trucks at the ramp. Was an incredible day to be fishing but not so hot for catching keepers. Cool, 1-3 mph winds, maybe too slick till about noon.
We mainly fished around the mouth of the river, under birds and out a bit toward Dbl Bayou. Made a swing around to the NW and stopped a couple of times.
Quite a few flocks working, lotta terns, and fish under them all. For every keeper we caught about 15 that were 14", along with lots of sand trout. Figured out the Gafftops were under the sitting birds, thick!! I think we got 7 or 8 of those slimers. Consistent and steady til we left at 1:30, 15-20 dinks to one keeper.
Threw plastics and a Corkie.
Going to try it again next Wednesday.
