Walk in wading christmas bay?

I'm sorta new to wade fishing. I'm getting back into it after several years and wanted to go somewhere that it is good for beginners. I'll be taking my younger brother and dad out as well, and I want to make sure their first time experience goes good.

I did some searching on google and on 2cool and read that christmas bay is good during the fall season, and I saw someone recommend the churchill bayou, but navionics and google earth shows the water there is pretty deep.

Where do ya'll recommend a good place to walk in for this upcoming fall season? Not looking for any honeyholes, but just popular places to start. Thanks

Pretty sure you can walk-in at the end of 257S (Amigo Lane) where there's a boat ramp. From there, the Christmas Bay side of Churchill Bayou is about a 1/2 mile wade. The way there is pretty good sand bottom, but once you get to Churchill, you will likely get into some mud.

If you scroll the map it will continue to show spots.

EDIT-- Never mind I thought it went all the way up to the upper coast.

Thanks for the walk in spot.
How's the depth once you get into the bayou? Is that stretch wadeable?

No worries, I appreciate the thought. The map should help others who are watching this thread

Fished there many times. From the boat ramped to the right to Churchill but it gets really muddy and deep. I have not made it yet. I thought wading along the shore line but that is a long way. Be careful.

I would look at getting a cheap kayak used. I have a boat but use a yak sometimes. Paddle out to some reefs and wade those. I'm half in half out on the yak thing but it gets me to some good fishing without messing with boat sometimes. Been flyfishing almost 100% now and yak helps.i don't fish out of it too much but use it to cross guts to other places.
