Need some advise on Corpus

I am trailering my boat from Galveston to Corpus this month. First time for me taking the boat there. I am looking some basic help on where to go with the boat. It drafts about 2'. Not looking for fishing spots but instead places to take my wife and 4 yr old to enjoy some places to swim and play. We will be staying close to the Packery Channel. Thanks in advance.
