Simms Guide Guard Socks - Repair

I really like this liners...comfortable and keeps stuff out of my boots. I was always worried about the lace hook corroding/breaking and it finally happened. I wanted to post this hoping it might help someone...here is what I did to repair them:

1. Go to Amazon and get these lace hooks. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2. Pick up some 1/8" aluminum pop rivets.
3. Leave the old metal grommet in the sock. It is the perfect size to secure the pop rivet.
4. Put everything together and you are done in about 10 seconds.
5. Pic attached for reference.

There might be some galvanic corrosion long term with the hodgepodge of metals, but it was a cheap fix to extend their life for a bit longer.
