Experience With Boat Clubs?

I am thinking about making the switch from boat owner to boat club member and was curious if anyone had experience they’d be willing to share?

I currently only use my boat 2 - 4 times / month fishing with my 4 & 6 year old sons around Clear Lake but my wife wants me to get a pontoon boat so she and my 1 year old daughter can join, do some tubing and maybe bring a couple friends.

Freedom Boat Club seems like a great option for using different boats for different occasions but I worry that boats won’t be available on the weekends. If I can get a boat is there some other pitfall I’m not considering?

Thanks as always for the input.

tarpon lmao

you are on the redneck country club website, the boat club is for high rollers. this is pirogues/john boat country. my niece is from Austin, moved to Boston and has gone full leftest. i really can't have a normal conversation with her because she hurls Trump insults versus having a factual civil conversation, facts don't matter. but she is high rolling and has a membership. she visited recently and they took a boat out of south shore and had fun. they only use it a few times a year. really don't know the details and whether or not if it is worth it. might have to try for a year, do a trial and error.

Contact Mont. He sold his boat several months back and joined the boat club. His early comments were positive about making the move.

This is helpful. I’m kind of hoping the average member is an occasional user / non-fisherman cause it would free up the boats I’m looking for. I was also interested in whether the travel features worked and it sounds like they do.

I have seen some of the very expensive fishing toys on this page. Rednecks or not, a year of boat membership is about the cost of some of the trolling motor setups I’ve seen some guys putting on the front of their $60k Haynies and Dargels.

if it works out, I think it will much cheaper than owning a boat. A boat is a hole in the water you pour money into. Might want to post up on thehulltruth.com, a lot of experienced knowledgeable boaters US and world wide. Bigger audience might have greater chance of getting feedback. I tend to get immediate feedback on engine problems on that site.
