Marinas in Surfside

We have a 30 Rampage express inboards. We keep it in Clear Lake in the winter but will be moving it to Surfside for summer fishing around May. What are decent covered marinas in that area. Im thinking about Kirby. How is the draft in and out of Kirby. Open for other suggestions.

I know this is going to sound obvious but it'd be worth half a day to go visit all the marinas you are considering and then decide. They all have a slightly different vibe, feel. I'd make sure Surfside Marina and Freeport municipal are on the list.

Kirby might be the only covered one. Non-covered, highly recommend Freeport Marina.

I liked Kirby's when I was there.
They only ran out of fuel once.
Easy access to the fuel dock, but it does get busy sometimes.
All the lifts seemed to be in good shape.
Easy short ride to get bait and ice if you need it.
Mechanic was on duty during the summer to help out if you need him.

Highly recommend Surfside Marina. Excellent team there and they provide great customer service. Top notch operation.

There are only two marinas in the Freeport/Surfside worth considering - Surfside Marina and Freeport Municipal Marina.

Just what 40marlin said!!
Only covered is Kirby and that's a good one; use should not have a problem with draft. Just stay close to the middle

I missed the covered part, guess reading isn’t my thing. Bridge Harbor has some covered slips but I don’t know much about it. I’ve seen some a few bigger inboards dry stacked, might be an option.

Be very careful going up oyster creek if you have never navigated it before because the oyster reefs come out quite a ways from both banks.. stay as close to middle as possible and always slow down if passing a boat thats stopped and/or fishing..

good fuel prices at Kirbys..
