Angry Say Goodby Kemah/Seabrook Ramps

Seabrook and Kemah ramps are due to be removed in the next week or so.

SayGood By to easy launch. I really do not know what is left, I used nasa ramp one time, it was in really bad shape.

It's the two under the 146 bridge. They're widening 146 and building a new bridge over the channel.

This is a year old, but according to it only the Seabrook ramp was to be permanently closed, but who knows?

The Seabrook ramp is a great one even when most of the water is blown out, sucks to lose that one. Clear Lake ramp isn't very good.

Loosing access is a trend. I know we are talking about Seabrook and Kemah here but I cant bite my tongue.
Other than people who keep their boats at GYB or have dockage at home, offshore fishing out of Galveston has slowed to almost nothing since GYB closed the ramp to the public. I'm sure Galveston has lost a tone of revenue because of everybody going over to Freeport to launch offshore boats. It seems like the city would be trying to draw that money into Galveston.
OK sorry for getting off topic.

If you are fishing in Clear Lake and dont want to mess with the Nasa ramp, we have used the League City ramp off of Egret Bay blvd many times. Its a further drive than the Nasa ramp but much nicer.

Calmday, I miss GYB and fishing the jettys and nearshore from there,
I could sneak out and get a jetty tuna even on bad days knowing just a few miles back i could hide behind the rocks again. I did not mind the $20 to launch. I have not been out there since, several years now. THere is a ramp on 61 street, I really doubt I could get in our out of there, its just to tight on parking for me and I only have a 22' seahunt.

I use freeport often, when you get back you find trailers parked miles away its insane and requires you be there at 4am to compete with the crowds.
