Picked up two new setups for an upcoming tuna trip. About to spool them up but unsure if I should go with 50, 60, or 80lb braid. All will have a small top shot of mono. Fin nor will be for jigging and the spin Fisher for throwing flying fish and poppers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I use 65# braid for casting/popping and 80# braid for jigging and chunking (with mono topshot for chunking). I also use a flouro or mono leader on each. Good luck.

Do you notice much of a difference between bites on fluoro vs. Mono?

I use 80# power pro on my set ups. Both casting and jigging. I personally use Flouro for peace of mind. But also have been on a few party boat trips for tuna and they use mono and still catch just as good.

Those of you casting fluoro leaders, what knots are you using to tie to the braid?

For casting, I am running 50 or 65# braid, 60 or 80# fluoro
