Sounds like a hot temp alert causing to go to fail safe mode.

Could be a bad sensor. When mine went bad it was easy to tell removed sensor and tip was corroded off. Also easy to diagnose because it tripped over heat when keyed turned off while motor cold.

But you could get a random over heat alarm too as it slowly fails.

Could be also have random water clog issue. When I had bad water flow due to a leaking water tube grommet I would get what was likely a sort of vapor lock in the cooling passage. I had to be sure to get good water flow on start up or it would over heat with in a minute. Once I fixed the issue there was a enough water to keep this from happening. At least that was the best explanation I could find asking lots of people. This motor uses very low pressure especially at idle. Only about 1 psi.

Change the spark plugs. The one I had did the exact same thing. It ran like a champ after.

You won’t go wrong with Evans or Shaver Street. Evans did a bunch of work on my boat and Shaver Shaver Street did my repower..both excellent shops.

Busha Boat works has done some wonders on Suzuki’s that we’re giving some of my friends issues ..... but they are closer to him than others.....

Looks like some good suggestions on here.....it should be noted... Busha also sells Suzuki’s
