Rigs questions

Never done the offshore thing but looking at a new boat that would give me the option (in specific weather conditions) to run out to some of the closer rigs. Want to take the kidos out that way if we get the chance. Can anyone suggest the best way to find rigs. I know good gps coordinates are tightly guarded secrets but any info or a point in the right direction of books, maps, or some software to buy would be appreciated. I mainly fish the port o Conner area and corpus

thanks

Look up Riks Book, specifically the state water book.

Unfortunately, many of the rigs are getting removed...so you may have to rely on underwater structure.

You can also find fish on several of the TPWD red sites, found here:

If you are talking about nearshore (statewater), you can see them. There are probably 10 or so between the packery and Port Aransas jetties. On top of that, there are a couple tpwd reefs with public numbers. When kingfish are around you can make a whole day driving around fishing for kingfish and ling.

Also, the anchorage can be good spots to try.

Skip that and buy Rik's book like multiple people have suggested.

Here's a graphic showing the latest Texas offshore rig locations from www.HiltonsOffshore.com

You can download all the rig locations into csv format or kml format.

Best,
Tom Hilton

Where does it allow you to download the rig locations? I can't seem to find it on the website. Or is that a paid service only?
