Venice, LA charter in 2 weeks, what to expect?

Have a full day charter booked out of Venice for offshore fishing. Friend booked the trip so I do not know the boat or captain. Where can I get some good recent fishing reports? Hoping for YFT and maybe Wahoo.

Has anyone heard of Champion Charters? The boat is a 2017 36’ Yellowfin with triple 300’s. Getting excited.

Did you end up going with Champion chartes? I’m booked to go with them in December. Just came across this post

We got weathered out. Trip was cancelled by the captain. We are waiting for our group to organize and reschedule.

If the shrimp boats are still out there, it's a really cool experience. But make sure you wear a t-shirt you can throw away. You will never get the pogie blood out of it.......have fun. Good luck with the weather.

Shamrock

Dress in layers. Deck shoes so as not to scuff deck. Food and drinks. Spin cast popper rigs are personal so bring it on. Don't hazard the deck by bringing unnecessary gear. Your captain has everything needed. Have fun. Tip. my $.02
