West Bay Sunday

Took my wife down saturday eve, we didnt have the boys and she wanted to relax and even fish some...I can handle that! Met my uncle/aunt at the beach house and the surf was sandy green and choppy. About 6pm my uncle and I took boat out in West bay. I threw my white/green spook jr and we made a few drifts deep inside a large cove. Bait everywhere and it didnt take long for a 24" red to slurp down the plug. Caught 2 more 22" and 19" and had a few other huge blowups. Went in at dark. Sunday morning we waded the surf right out front (Pirates). I caught one pre-dawn on same spook jr, missed 1 more. Then I couldnt buy a bite until we swithched to live bait. By then my wife had came down and was wading w us. Around 11 am we had a huge bite turn on, we all caught trout nearly every cast for an hour. Also caught a few macks. It was fun seeing the wife reel in a few keeper specs, trips like that are what get me more fishn time down the road! The surf cleaned up very nice all day. Even when the E winds got to 12-14 it stayed green. Was a lil choppy out there at times, but never too rough. My wife wanted to take the boat out after wading, so I actually got to fish again yesterday eve after whoopn em in the surf. Took her to same spot I fished Sat eve, (cant say which cove) made a long drift over grass and about 30 min into it hook up w a huge red on spook jr. Got it to the boat before she straitend my hook out and spit, about 28"-30". About 7:30 the bite turned on. 2 reds 22", 24" and a nice 22" trout, all on tops. Had a few monster blow ups too. Wife had brought our new dog along so they just relaxed while I fished. Overall it was one of the best fishn weekends of summer. Some of my coves in west bay are starting to hold some big fish, next month or so should be some good fishn! My lil man and #1 fishn partner started kindegarden today!!
