Propping a 38 Fountain 3x 300 Verados

I know this is the wrong forum but If there is anyone out there with experience propping a 38 Fountain, please shoot me a message. Trying to dial in a new (to me) boat that isn’t performing as it should. Boat came with non-vented 26p bravos and can barely get to 6000 rpms trimmed waaaay up. Poor fuel economy. Top speed isn’t quite what it should be and Hole shot is sluggish. I think it needs vented props and possibly down to 24 or 25 pitch. Any help is appreciated.

I would call Brian Forehand at Marker 17 Marine in Wilmington, NC 910-821-0190 or Propbender on THT. Brian sold us our boat and raced high speed boats for years. Good dude.

24 for heavy loads labbed 26 to go fast. Verados need to be trimmed way up on that hull, trim center higher than outboard motors. New pencil coils and a fresh set of plugs will wake those motors back up. Check your oil levels most people over fill them. Make sure isolator between throttle body and blower is not separated. Fresh fuel of proper octane or the ecm will pull timing. Make sure the motors are good to go before messing with props

If you are anywhere near Houston, I would talk to Baumann Propellers. They are the only people I ever let touch my props.

I'd also check the spark plugs and consider replacing them too... Not saying this is the sole issue, but you might just be surprised.

Plugs and all filters are fresh. ISO boots are all good (had to replace on of them) and the only thing that hasnt been replaced are the pencil coils.

you could also head over to the hull truth and talk to Chris AKA propbender. He has a ton of experience with Fountains and could probably rattle it off the top of his head for you.

I would not use Louie. He’s great at holeshot and “it works” props. Fast cruise to WOT isn’t his thing.
I’d look at 23 Rev 4s from propgods. That’s not going to be an 80mph boat no matter what you do. Also check motor heights before dumping $1500+ on screws.
