creedmoor is the real deal and will be around forever, the 6.5 prc probably not so much.
nothing wrong with the 260 just cant find ammo or manufacturers making that caliber.
in real world experience the 25-06 cant hang, its more in the 243 league. weve seen better results with the 243 actually. 7-08 is probably the most inaccurate modern cartridge ive ever seen. after loading and shooting about 10 different rifles in that caliber weve given up on it, yes i was able to get them to shoot with handloads not one would ever shoot factory ammo in the 140gr fodder somehow i think the twist rate is wrong, everyone of those rifles will shoot 120 gr great.
every creedmoor will shoot factory ammo lights out. ive killed lots of deer and pigs with mine. devestating holes and blood trails complete pass throughs on the biggest hogs. the .264 bullets just have high SD's doesnt matter if it comes out of a sweede or 260. the thing is a killing machine. the case of the creed was designed for match shooting and has taking off like wild fire in the hunting scene. its cause of the magical .264 bullet.
nothing wrong with a 308. 30-06, 270 etc. the thing is the creed will perform like them with less recoil and will hang with a 270 way out there.

I love mine.Had a Remington 700 built couple years ago with a heavy Palma barrel 26 inch and HS stock with the palm swell and Leupold Mark4LR,but I had another 700 build in the same configuration in a 22-243 (no not 22-250) and man that is my favorite by far for any large deer in Texas.

You are dead wrong on 7-08. How many long range sillouette matches won by Tubbs with a 7-08? All my 7-08 builds ( including my daughters - she’s 11, started at 7 with it ) shoot sub moa . All will stay under 1/2” (5 shot 100 yd ) even with factory stuff. Yes 140 GR bullet .

Siltmann40 is a Landlubber (+10 to -10)
Get a 270 or 308. Unless you reload if the world goes to **** you will just have a really nice stick to hit people with. Old standard loads work and easy to find ammo

If the world goes to poop there will be 270s and 308s laying all over the ground.... so dont worry about it....

Buy every rifle that interests you.....

People get way too wrapped up in cartridges..
it's fun of course but for normal hunting distances, say under 300 yards it just really doesn't matter. Put a decent hunting bullet in the right spot and it's done.

Late to the game.
I have a 6.5 CM that I shot in competition two years, replace the very expensive barrels 3 times. The 6.5 is such an overbore cartridge that makes it a barrel burner. Unless you are shooting long range comp, pick something else,, if you do want to shoot long range, get something like the CheyTac, or 50 cal BMG.

P.S. changed it to a 708 and love it
