Not sure where you are starting, but I started building rods 2 years ago and wanted a power wrapper because it looked like it would do everything. I do like it alot, but mainly for finishing. I dont use it to actually wrap rods, I wrap by hand and then use it to finish and dry.
If I could do over, I would get a good hand wrapper and then get a flex coat finisher with a clutch. They are expensive, but after having a power wrapper, I can see that would be better. I have the ALPs power wrapper. I do like that i can sand cork handles with it, but again I just wrap by hand and I think a finisher with clutch like flexcoat is better than using foot pedal. They do come up for sale everyonce and a while, but I just got mine on sale at getbit. Good luck |
