Dear CCA Texas Member,

Â

Over the Memorial Day weekend, the Texas Department of State Health Services(DSHS) officially lifted the Bayport Channel Collision consumption advisory for portions of Galveston and Trinity Bays north of the line from Texas City Dike to Smith Point. Below is a link to the department’s official advisory concerning the chemical release.

Â

This clears the way for CCA Texas STAR to release the extra allotment of tagged reds into the Galveston Bay Complex. There will be more STAR-tagged redfish in this bay system than ever before.

Â

CCA Texas STAR volunteer crews immediately sprang into action securing and preparing STAR specially-tagged redfish to complete the release into the previously-affected area waters as soon as possible. These volunteers have been working diligently, and we expect the additional release to be completed by 8am tomorrow.

Â

Once the release in completed, your chances of catching a tagged redfish in the Galveston Bay Complex have never been higher. The weather forecast is looking good this weekend, and those tagged reds will be hungry and waiting. Go catch you one!
