Driving Directions to the Lump

Hey guys, will be heading to the lump in about 10 days and am going through my final prep stages. I've done the Google and Yahoo! maps for directions and was wondering what the best route to get to Port Fourchon is? I'll be coming through Houston on I10. Is it best to stay on I10 for the most part or jump off on Hwy 90?

Thanks in advance...I'm going to be worthless for the next week

Driving to Fourchon

If you are going to Fourchon from Houston, I would recommend getting off onto 90. You take 49 south which turns into 90. This will quicker than going to Port Allen and taking Hwy 1 all the way.

You take 90 past Houma and hit Hwy 1. Follow it until you get to 3090 after the Leeville Bridge. Take a right and you are there.

Here's the map from Charlie Hardison's website. http://hardisonoffshorefishing.com/g...-Map-Print.gif

Bounce Driving To Pt. Fourchon

Hey Cameron:
I hope you are doing well.
I just returned from Pt. Fourchon a few days ago. Yes, swing throu Houston and get on I-10 East. Go to Layfayette, watch for Hiway 90, but you turn right on 637 of 6?? and it says it leads to 90 (and watch out, when you come back it is even more confusing) IT IS 49 TO THE NORTH AND 90 TO THE SOUTH. And all the way South you will see signs "Future I-49 Corridor". Stay on 90 South or East to Hiway No. "La. 1" which is just before you get to Raceland, La. Take a right on Hiway 1. Hiway 1 is an old single 2 lane road that goes through little towns like Lockport, Larose, Cut Off, Galliano and Golden Meadow (all at 35MPH to 45 MPH (School Zones are 15 MPH and there is one every 10 blocks. I HAD PURCHASED A NEW MAP FOR THE TRIP, BUT IT DID NOT SHOW HIWAY 3235, just 1/2 mile West of Hiway 1. PLEASE TRY TO BUY A NEW MAP THAT SHOWS HIWAY 3235. Start looking at Galliano for a turn to the right, or stop and ask (it will save you 1 hour) to get on 3235. It goes straight through Leeville to Pt. Fourchon. WATCH OUT, EVERYTHING IN THE WHOLE WORLD DOWN THERE CLOSES AT 7:00 PM.

To actually get to the marina, I suggest you stop in Leeville at "BOBBY-LYNNS" a convenience store/tackle shop on the left as you enter Leeville (985-396-2678). Ask them for directions to Belle Pass Marina. It is another 8 miles.

The Belle Pass Marina info. is:
CHARLIE HARDISON & SONS, INC.

225-445-1066 CELL
1-800-463-4747
GOLDEN MEADOW, LA. 70357

While y'all are there, I encourage you to take a "tourist" drive through Grand Isle just to see some of the damage that storm did.

IF YOU GET LOST OR NEED HELP IN THAT PART OF THE WORLD:
Do not hesitate to call: Capt. Chris --- 225-937-7306
Capt. Eddie --- 985-788-5080

To Buy your La. Fishing Liscence: even while on the road
1-888-765-2602, but, you must know your Capt's. Liscense No.

Thats Prolly a lot more than you wanted to know - you have my phone no. if you have any more questions. Thanks, John
