They’re prolly gonna Open it now while there’s a shelter in place and say we’ve gone over our quota by June 1.

^^

Just take a little portable grill, some seasonings and eat 'em up while you are still out there. Easy to make ceviche on the water too.

With lockdown in place the head boats will not be catching many snapper. Hidalgo and Cameron counties are shelter in home.

Somehow they'll figure out a way to say it's overfished, they always do, they always will.

Regardless that we've been unable to stay away from red snapper the last 10 years, catching them even trolling lures on the surface, they'll find a way, until the money flow stops.

You can fish the bays, a body of water a fraction of the size of the Gulf of Mexico, almost 365 days a year, from the bank, piers, wade fishing, in everything from kayaks, John boats, jetski's, pontoon boats, bay boats, just about anything, when someone doesn't catch fish, well, they're just not biting.

Yet offshore, comparable, it has limited access, limited fishable days, huge difference in number of fishermen per square mile, if you can't fill your boat in 30 minutes (in other words don't know where to fish, or how to read your sonar) then oh man, it's grossly overfished, that's it shut it down, the fish just ain't there like they used to be.

Relentless

Headboat quota is separate from recreational quota, if I remember correctly.
