Inspection of Vehicle in Different County

I think you still can. It's been a couple years back but I had to get temporary paper plates here in Texas to bring a car back from Florida. I flew in, bought the car, and drove it back to Houston.

You can get it inspected in the county where it is and registration in another. I did it several times with my kids cars while they were in college. The registration office will have you sign a form saying that the vehicle is not in its Home county. You are supposed to have the emission inspection done when it com s back home.

In my case cars were registered in Harris county and the kids were in school at college station.

Thanks.....I wasn't sure if it was something you have to do through your local registration office or if there is something that can be handled/noted during the out of county inspection.

Just got mine done today in Brazoria. $7, no problem. Safety only. But like said above, I guess pre emissions trucks they dont check. But at the same time, I had to tell the mouth breathing goon working there that it was diesel in the first place. He didnt know
