Big truck rims
I bought a truck with some big rims... 22". I don't really care for them either way but I really like them a lot less now that it is coming time to replace tires. Anyone swap their big rims out for something more standard like 18" rims and notice a difference in the ride?

More sidewall in the 18" tire to get the overall circumference back to original typically means better ride.

I'm kind of confused why have big rims... Not only worse ride, they are more $$$ to replace tires.

I have a factory set of 20" wheels for my old pick up, they came with the truck. Since my wife drove the truck for years, that's what we kept putting back on it. Then she got a new car 8 years ago and the truck was relegated to being my boat hauler.
Since I became the primary driver of the truck, I really dislike those 20" wheels, specifically because of the ride. I have a set of factory 17' wheels in my shed that will be going on when the current tires have to be replaced next. |
