What size seat?
I made a batch for a well known rod builder and still have a few.
Old school Harnell style out of Ash wood.

Seat size? I haven't a clue. I purchased several years ago from Andy Dear (advertised on this site), 6 - 7' rods with intentions of Surf Rod builds. Would you believe that I now have the time to devote to that effort? "Best laid plans of mice & men..."


I did a small research on the Harnell style handle...exactly what I'm looking for! Could you please send me an email ([email protected]) describing details?


I have a 1948 fiberglass rod marketed by Sears (College grad gift) with a handle just like the description shown in pictures of the web sites I looked at (Never end a sentence with a preposition...). This rod handle has a large female ferrule on the wooden handle, with matching male ferrule on the rod. I will need to mike the handle/butt of the rod to select the correct size ferrule.


My Sons, Grandsons and Great-Grandsons are standing in line.
