I'm looking at buying a used 5x8 utility trailer but the seller hasn't been able to locate the title.

Am I required to have a title and how much of a pain in the rear is it gonna be to do the paperwork and registration without a title?

He's willing to knock a bunch off the price if he can't locate it but I'm wondering if not having the title is a deal breaker.

Most trailers that size do not have a title.
Get the most recent registration and a bill of sale. Make sure those two names match.
