Check Engine EVAP Codes P0455 & P0442
Hey guys, I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 w/4.7 v8. Prolly 88k miles on it.
The check engine is on and throwing P0455 and P0442 codes. Both point toward leaks in the EVAP system. Does anyone out there have an easy way to check for leaks that doesn't involve taking it in? It's an old truck and I'm just trying to save a lil money. I'd hate to replace the LDP and not have that be the problem. On top of this, it's due for inspection by the end of the month, and I need to get this cleared up. |

look under the hood. on the drivers side. there is a pipe from under the engine cover going towards area over the drvers tire. this pipe typically will crack. i think the crack is usually under the cover near the purge valve, i think. but it is typically this hose. good luck. if not there you will need a computer and someone who knows how to use it to locate the source of the leak or malfunction.
