Hitch Receiver pin

Had to go buy a new Trailer Receiver Hitch, but loaned out my receiver and it was never returned. Went to 4 stores Northern Tool, TSC, O'Rielly's and AutoZone yesterday to look for a pin with a hole in it and not one available. I dont trust the new ones with a grooved out area all the way around the pin where you slide the metal clip on and it locks. Had to order one on Walmart. WM Rocks !!

i have had one the groove in and a R Clip on it on my truck for close to 300K miles rateling around. probably 15k miles towing our 30ft camper and not had one issue with it. once the pin gets a little surface rust it is even harder to get on and off.

I’ve been running a grooved pin with a clip for almost 30 years on horse/cattle trailers, boats and low boys. Never had a single problem. All the force is applied to the pin, not on the clip.

Now the pins with a hole in them are great for a lock, which now days is nice to have.

Tractor Supply. Get an implement pin. I remove the wire handle and drill out the hole just a little for a combo lock.
