Staining Walnut Veneer
I am refinishing some old school stereo speakers from the 70's. They were a nice medium dark brown when new. They weren't in bad shape when I bought them recently, but I decided to refinish them to make them look newer and better. I have sanded them down to bare wood.
My question is: I am thinking of using Watco Danish Oil in dark walnut and want to know if the danish oil will darken the walnut veneer to that medium to dark brown? How dark will the Danish oil make the raw walnut if I don't stain/dye them first? Any assistance appreciated. |

Not familiar with the product but I do know that any time I've worked with walnut I have used a clear sealant and that darkened it plenty. I wouldn't imagine walnut would need a tinted stain.
