Galveston Surf - Sunday 6/1

Arrived at the surf at 5am saturday... it looked rough so I went to the backside of SLP... no bites at all!

Went back to the surf at SLP and caught a Red Tacoma and White Ford Explorer. Both realeased to get stuck another day. Water was gin clear at the pass. I saw a huge pompano getting pulled in... that suckers was 3-4 lbs for sure!

Headed down towards a beach access near the State Park and finally found a 18" speck for lunch. Water was trout green but not clear which I think was the key. It was combat surf but the specs are out there. I wish I would have battled it in the early morning hours. It was a mistake leaving the surf for the bay.

Anyhow.. ya'll be safe.. and if you drive a 2wd, avoid the sugar sand... it'll eat ya up!!

I bet you are wishing that Mosca was finished being built! I sure hope the wind lays soon, I'd like to hit the surf but I'm not in for that combat fishing.
