Recommendations on brand and models
Hey guys I am starting to look around at purchasing a jet ski. I will be living in the Tampa Bay Area so will be using it in the bay and lakes. What brands and models do you recommend? I will most likely purchase a used one. I would also like to outfit it with some fishing alterations and add ons. Thanks

I've been a Yamaha guy all my life. The FX series or the VX series are very reliable. Just my opinion, but I'll take reliability over top end any day. Welcome to 2 Coo, by the way!

I have one of each....much different machines.
The FX is like driving a luxury car...rides a little better, more leg room, lot more power...but isn't as maneuverable. The VX is more fun to drive if you are making tight turns and playing around, but way less acceleration and top end. Little tighter on leg room and not as many bells and whistles. As for reliability....cannot weigh in as both have very few hours even though they are 2011 and 2014 models. As for top end, the FX does about 65...the VX about 52....and I don't like to go wide open on either. |

VX Ho
My 2018 VX HO is 180HP non-supercharged, very stable, has good excellaration, 0-30mph in about 2 seconds & it’ll do 65mph plus. Love the Ride system.
Also available in supercharged version @ 250HP |

I would go for Yamaha VX, I have it for 4 years and like it. I use it not really often, once a week if the weather is good I think. Don't have problems with it at all. It's funny to ride it and always make me happy.
